Throwing the hook with the houseball
« on: April 06, 2004, 05:21:13 AM »
I was wondering if any of the bowling vets out there can help me out.   I just started to learn to throw a hook with the house balls 3 months ago.   Last night in 12 games (all you can bowl), I bowled an average of 165.   So my questions are:

Should I buy a ball?  I'm finding it hard enough to hit the right side of pocket on dry lanes.  Wouldn't a ball with more hook potential (not a houseball) make it even harder?

Also, I'm a skinny guy, 150 lbs.  How heavy of a ball should I be throwing?

It depends, are you really interested in starting to bowl? If you want to bowl, yes get a ball. How fast do you throw? Do you throw with conventional or fingertip? Do you turn the ball alot?

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.
