How is This for an Arsenal???
« on: July 27, 2006, 09:22:06 AM »
I decided I am definately moving up to 16 pounds, so I have been looking to put together a new arsenal for my fall season.

This is what I came up with.

Heavy Oil- RotoGrip Epic Battle...not sure how I'd want to drill it.

Medium Oil-Brunswick Red Zone drilled with the Pin and CG stacked.

Light-Medium Oil-Dynothane Crisis Pearl Drilled label..cg in the middle of grip, pin to the left of the ring finger.

Light Oil-Columbia 300 Baby Blue Urethane Beast already drilled Label.

I am a left hander, high tracker, medium revs, medium ball speed, like to play out around 5-10, mostly standing around 17 on a THS.

Is this a good one?  Or should I be looking somewhere else?

The only thing I see lacking is something between The Roto Grip Epic Battle and the Red Zone. You might consider either the Epic, Epic Saga, RS-X by Roto Grip, maybe even the Horizon to fit into that slot. Other possible choices would be a Hammer Black Widow, Visionary's AMD Solid, Granite Gargoyle, things like this...a good heavy/medium ball. Other than that, you have a good arsenal.

I don't see much room between the Epic Battle and the Red Zone.  Polished or not, it should be pretty close to the Battle.  You could use a nice solid resin ball with a medium to weaker cover - you don't really have anything for medium.  Something like a Track Arsenal Reactive, Hammer Pain, Dynothane Magnum 44, or a Visionary Violet Gargoyle.

The house I'll be bowling at lays down medium oil, and I used to throw a 15 lbs. Ultimate Inferno drilled stacked leverage, and polished up.  It worked well, and I figure the Red Zone is Activator already polished so it should work well.

I thought the Black Widow was a heavier oil ball?
