Urgent help needed!
« on: May 05, 2004, 01:29:19 PM »
Ok so way back when i picked up bowling again i bought a few new balls. One of them has remained un drilled, that being my superfreak, but that isnt a significant thing.

What is significant is that when my coach and driller set the ball on the drilling press it wouldnt sit right. Like it would wobble when it was sitting in the press. So we went and got another ball out of the pro shop, and bang it sat straight there, no movements, no wobbling, nothing.

We proceded to put the superfreak on the press again and again it wobbled and wouldnt sit right. We tried sitting it in all different positions, like label up, label down, label left, label right, and it just wouldnt sit. Could it be that the ball isnt quite round??? Is that even possible???

Startled by this i put the ball on the scales. Now the box says its a 15 pound 3 Oz ball,  but on the scales it read 14 pound 15 Oz. What the hell is going on??? All of the other balls that i bought when i started again are perfect. Is this a blem ball? I didnt buy it as a blem ball, so what can i do?

Should I contact track?? Legally, or ethically speaking, what is my position here? If the ball is indeed underweight and 'out of round' am i entitled to a replacement?

HELP!!!

good luck and high scoring

Matt -- If you bought the ball at your driller's pro shop, I would let him contact Track with the complaint.  He purchases a lot more balls than you do, and he also has his distributor that might provide a replacement.  If you bought it over the internet, contact Track yourself, but if you've had the ball for any length of time I don't expect you to have much success.  One more reason to buy from your local pro shop.  --  JohnP

matt,

Where did you have the ball stored? Was it near a heater or did you have it in your trunk?

If it's just a little lighter than the box said, you might be able to get it replaced from where you bought it.  A few ounces isn't critical, but it is still bothersome.  If it's out of round, it most definitely should be replaced, no questions asked, unless you stored in near a heat source.
