Adjusting in the modern game
« on: July 08, 2006, 08:24:02 AM »
Has adjusting in the modern game become a thing of the past? With the arsenal's that people carry today, one needs only change balls to find the ball that will work throwing the same line. I have always carried a 2 ball arsenal over these many years. One for oilier conditions and 1 for drier. I would make the adjustment needed to compete on the conditon presented to me. The other bowlers I see simply change balls till the find one that works. I don't see a problem with this approach, but was wondering if the art of adusting has been lost. If the number of balls a bowler could use during competion was limited, would this bring more skill back into the sport regardless of the shot laid out in a certain house? Limit bowlers to 2 balls and a spare ball before any tourny and let the best bowler win! Just food for thought!
