I am thinking about taking 6 balls to Nationals this year.

Mission - pin down 1000 grit

Mission 2.0 2000 grit pin up

Mission Domination - oob going to be pin down

global Bank

Global Bank Pearl

Spare Ball

I only want to bring 4 altogether, but also do not want to be without a ball that would work.

I take 4 3 different strike ball reactions and a spare ball.  Airlines restrict the number of balls you can take without paying thru the nose.

I have taken as many as 5, but the funny thing is that I can pretty well predict which ones I'm going to use, and have never used more than 3 once I got there, and the 3rd ball is always just a few shots in practice just to make sure.  I will probably just take two this year, and if I can't figure it out with them, it's not going to happen.  For the last several years, especially developing a knowledge of Reno since we've been there so often, for the righties, whether the shot gives you miss room outside or inside, whether the pattern is shorter or longer, really doesn't matter much, the shot is always at 4th or 5th arrow.  You can find something somewhere else, but the shot that seems to be the best, lets you stay in the same place the longest, and lends the highest carry percentage is always right there.  I always fight it because I don't want to feel like I'm cheating, but I always end up there.  I'm taking a Jigsaw Trap and a Taboo, and possibly might drill a Midnight Vibe just in case the shot burns up quickly in doubles so I'll have an option for singles.  I don't use plastic, I just flatten my wrist out and use whatever ball I'm using for my first shot at the moment.

So in short, aggressive ball with surface for team, mid range to aggressive pearl for doubles, and depending on the wear and tear on the lanes for singles, either stick with that ball or step down to an entry level to mid range pearl.

That's just like, your opinion, man.

Will take 6 since I can do two airline 3 ball totes on Southwest, did this last year as well. Three of the balls are locked in at this point, but will have to decide on the rest between now and June.

Break Out, Profit and Head Hunter spare ball. If going today my Bank and Bounty Hunter would go. The sixth would be a coin toss but likely the Favorite with a little surface.

Who knows what to expect. Last year carried several balls with 2000 surface based on postings here and the back ends were so strong that had difficulty controlling the reaction. Had to polish up everything and had better shot in D/S but still saw a lot strong back ends than in the past. This year might have one ball with surface, but everything else will be polished to some level and can scuff once there if looks like lanes are tighter. Have friends bowling the team squad at 2:30 and we that night.

This year will be four.

So far the leading candidates are:

Alpha Max

Revolver

Loaded Revolver

Groove Urethane spare ball
