my center is reopening June 1st, any word on yours yet?
« on: April 21, 2020, 08:28:08 AM »
Just got an email from my leaague that our center is reopening June 1st. WE need to vote on weather to finish out the season or just call it a day and do payouts as is. How about your bowling center? Have they set a reopening date yet?

See that Lassen County, one of the 1st to open in California just re-closed today again due to several new outbreaks of Covid-19. Might be some time before we bowlers are able to enjoy the sport again, sad to say.  :(

There isn't much up in Lassen County bowling-wise.. The only alley up that way is in Susanville to my knowledge, and it caught fire 4 years ago. But shutting down again isn't good news at all; in fact, it is what people were warning about in certain people's haste to reopen everything.

Now.. imagine if that happened in, say, Clark County, NV (Las Vegas), or bigger? Ugh..

Yup, pretty much a remote county, but quite close to Redding & Red Bluff. Has to be a bit of a disappointment to residents there as well as State Health Organizations. Only time will tell.

True.. Redding does have a couple of alleys. Not sure on the status of the county though. Shasta and Siskiyou counties have 1 alley each: one in Weed, and the other in Yreka.. again, not sure on the county status, but as that's a 4+ hour drive from Sacramento going up there just to bowl is like making the $100 burger run (aviation speak: fly your own private plane somewhere just to eat and fly home. spend more money on the gas to get there than doing what you wanted to while there).

Bowled there in Redding in the past and fished there too while working there, but now days haven't been there for quite some time. Was considering moving there just a wee bit of time ago, but the stifling summer heat changed our minds on that move. Nice area though with lot's of outdoor activities happening. Have dear friends in Carmichael that we visit whenever possible and really enjoy "old town" Sacramento when we do visit them. Always pack a bowling ball and gear when headed there. Nice area but sure has grown over the years.

My local center is not scheduled to open until sometime in August.

The center I work at reopened for bowling on May 23rd @ 50% capacity(our kitchen stayed open for pickup & delivery during the shutdown). So far business is better than normal for this time of the year(post league season). The kitchen business has stayed about the same, overall. Fewer deliveries, offset by the dine-in crowd.

Our Stay-at-home order was uplifted earlier today in Michigan, with no restrictions except 2, or 3 places. Looks like we’re good to go, tomorrow, or Wednesday; Long time coming.

Wishing the best for the rest of you!

Channel 4 (NBC) Detroit went through a list of things that are still forced to be closed last night on the 6pm newscast.

Lucky you. Hopefully the owner isn’t ticketed for opening if they’re not supposed to. The government is working on increasing the fines tremendously.

Had two summer leagues I would have bowled. None now. This sucks.
