Title: My concoction, will this mixture work?
Post by: TheBowlingKid25 on February 19, 2004, 01:06:44 AM: I have heard people say they use a mixture of simple green, and alchahol, but has anyone ever added doc's elixir to this mixture? I have a batch mixed up with a quarter of a bottle of doc's. Gonna give it a shot, what do you think?

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

when the gunk quits coming off my ball using alcohol, i'll quit using alcohol . . . if you say it just rubs around the oil, i'll call bull honkey on you . . . and for all of the hashing and rehashing i've seen on this site, i have yet to see any reall proof!!!

but i love you guys, i really do!!!

Badshot -- You asked, and here it is, taken from the ball maintenance section of the Ebonite.com tech center:

Common sense tells you the above is correct. You don't use alcohol to clean the grease off your kitchen counter, because it's not a degreaser. The same concept applies to cleaning bowling balls -- use a real degreasing agent to get the job done.

Post by: a_ak57 on February 19, 2004, 07:29:03 PM: Thanks for the tip about the alcohol...i use about 3/4 simple green, 1/4 alcohol, but i guess i don't need to use it. If all it does is spread the oil, well, then there's really no point of cleaning with it, huh?
