My current (embarrassing) arsenal.
« on: November 09, 2004, 12:24:49 AM »
Ok folks, I just recently got rid of all my 16 and 14 pound stuff as well as some of my 15's that I just never used.  After looking at what I have left I am embarrassed.  Look at my collection and you'll see why.  I seem to need at least one ball to go between my midrange stuff and my xxxl.  I'm thinking now about a Lane #1 Bullet, but wanted to hear if anyone had any other ideas - I may need to get 2 new tools.  Also interested in suggestions for surface preps or redrilling options to separate what I have.

Here's the list (all are pretty much box surface other than [maybe] the Silver Streak particle).

Roto Grip Assault: Pin over ring finger, CG about 1/2" out
Roto Grip Major Assault: 315 layout
Roto Grip Fuel: Pin 1" under ring finger, CG 1" out.
Silver Streak Particle: Pin over ring finger, CG out 1/2", 600 grit finish.
Roto Grip Rush: Pin over ring finger, cg out 2"
Silve Streak Solid: Pin over ring finger, cg out 1"
Silver Streak Pearl: Pin beside ring finger, 45 degree layout (ie, cg out)
Silver Buzzsaw: Pin between fingers, Cg out (on line with PAP).
Uranium Buzzsaw: Pin above bridge, cg out 1 1/2".
XXXL Buzzsaw: Pin by finger, 4 x 4 layout.

Most of the above have a wt hole.  You'll note the common theme of "Pin over ring finger."  Mostly I have cg out or stacked; I've not found much of any ball with the CG in grip center that I liked.  And, almost everything I have is designed/set up for medium to heavier.  Any suggestions?

Rags,..."pin over finger" is pretty dominant in your box of goodies,...without to much detail, you can change the look on some of those by adding a PAP hole to give a better mid-lane look and arcing reaction,..also a little surface  stairsteping will give ya different looks,...just a thought.

Rags since you like Lane #1 and are looking a mid performance ball I would look at the Brunswick line.

The BVP punisher or a little more high performance the Intense Inferno. You seem to like controlled drilling so I would probably stick with what you like there.

Rags,

Are you saying your Silver Buzzsaw with pin between the finger
(above or below or right at the finger holes?)
is for medium conditions?
((FYI It's called the Silver Diamond.))

Rags is looking at making a million or more. He has invented a motorized, 10 ball carrier system, fully independent suspension, 4 wheel steering, disc brakes with a GPS system. He however has not gotten the patent approved so it will not be released to the public until later in the year. Send him a PM to get in on the 20% discount coupon for early ordering. I have heard through the grapevine that he will also pay the freight on pre- release orders.

Rags has been pretty tight lipped about this so far, now this is an assumation, and nothing more that that, so if I'm wrong please do not hold me to it. I have heard it uses the same type wheel and suspension as the Mars Rover, combined with the "walking feet" of a very large drag line. This will allow it to transverse most any obstacle in its path, the steering is handled by a small hand held palm device with a joystick, this allows the user to walk, talk, chew gum, and carry his or her Miller Light with out spilling a drop.

P.S. don't tell Rags I've let the cat out of the bag.

Charlest, I cannot use the Silver Diamond (ok, ok, I'll use the full name) on anything less than medium.  It has the largest back end (kind of like one of Hose's waffle house chicks) of anything I've ever seen.  Mind you, this is one of the original Silver's.  The re-issue was, imo, not nearly as strong.

This turns out to be a timely post - see my thread about the lane condition I had last night.  Nothing in my current abomination of an arsenal would have been good on that shot.

Wow , it sounds great.

do you know what format the balls will/are to be stored in.
i.e.
Depth by Width by Height (in balls)
5 by 2 by 1   really long but can get through doors easy, not very car friendly
3 by 2 by 2  accutaly allowing 12 balls, interesting
2 by 2 by 3  - i like this one best, like a tower of balls
Or perhaps a pyramid shape, therefor having a lower cg hmmm
hmmm, the possibilities are endless.

With the obviously computer controlled navigation system, will it be able to adjust for weight differences in the balls, for example, if you only pack one side up would this effect the control you have with the palm powered controller?
buy yes, the base is not to dissimilar to the mars rover, so the suspension system should be able to cope, yes...

I know its a big task but wee need a picture! would it be possible to obtain such evidence!
Even just a artistic impression or perhaps some blueprints?
