My first 700.....FINALLY!!

I'm in a 2-man team double-doubles league -- 2 games on 1 pair vs. 1 team then on to a new pair for a new set vs. another team.  I started out 154-173 against the center manager and his partner.  Not a good beginning.  The next set, I'm bowling against a guy who has thrown a pair or more of 270s, a 290 and a 298 in just the first 4 weeks of league.  I was rolling my Rush and as all over the approach in the first set, so I decided to play my favorite line the next set:  25 to 15 at the arrows out to about 7 at the break.  I started 4-bagger, 9/, 8/, 4-bagger, 9/ for a 256.  Cool!!  Next game, 4-bagger, 9/, 6-bagger, 7 on the fill for a 276!!  Where did this come from?!?!?  I had them set me up on another pair to try to get the 700 -- they moved me halfway across the center on some lanes they hadn't oiled.  I managed a 200 for an unofficial 732 -- my first ever!!  I only hope I can duplicate it in an official situation!!

Thanks!!  It's taken me 3 years to learn to accept that I can't play my blades well when I'm only golfing 2-3x a month.  The funny thing about my 700 is I played 2 rounds before my league -- kind of hacking it all over, but having fun -- yet all I could think about was getting to bowling league!!  I have never in my 19 years of playing golf, been so indifferent about it!!  I think a lot of it is because I'm not golfing against the kind of competition I look forward to.....Not that I'm great, but when you shoot high 70s/low 80s most of the time, it's sometimes tough to get up for the 110/120s that my friends shoot.....

Ron -

All the things we were working on at the BES seem to be coming together -- my timing is better, I'm dropping the ball quietly on the lane with more revs than ever and I'm not squeezing, well, not much anyway.  Of the shots I missed I can tell you I squeezed on 3 of them...But if it's only on 3 or so during a set, I can live with that!!  ..............For now.....

The saga of my suckage continues......After my "breakthrough", I had a night where I couldn't hit my average.  I thought last night might be more of the same -- imagine my surprise at a 198, 267, 213 -- a 678 AND they ALL COUNTED!!  It was a perfect night, well, except for the 117 I started with!!!
