My first vid!!
« on: May 11, 2005, 01:46:38 AM »
Oh no....should I ?!? LOL

Last saturday....after our mixed league 9 pin no tap-end-of-the-season fun session,...banquet, etc....Taped by my brother which may be the reason for the "sideways" vid...lol, (working on fixing this!) just tilt your head

Ok...ball: My S&A (used) but, came oob w/ a high polish on it, so I hit it with a wet grey before going to league...it looks compound
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wOTE5NzAzNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

lanes: gaurdian 18 ft, old wood the rest...40 ft pattern, 7 to 7, heavy in the middle. In practice, I had the best look and carry out of the s&a ... owner had a new cleaner/stripper being used, so it was playing shorter than usual w/ nice backends....

This shot....while not a strike, one of the better vids that turned out (sorry again for the quality folks) .....

Not sure if I want to do this, ....but.....here goes........(p.s.; never knew my first step was so small....anyhow) .......ON WITH IT ! LOL

No, I don't ....however, the vid does look that way doesn't it !!??

Honestly I don't...I track about 1/2 from fingers and thumb (starting track)

I've always been a high tracker and constantly work to bring it lower......

Jeff: The first thing I noticed is that pesky 7 pin you left. In the future, hold your follow through at the line and stare it down. Sometimes you can intimidate the thing into falling over.

You're overall form looks fairly good. Like T-GOD, my first impression is that you have more or a full roller, or at least more of an up the back release. It's hard to see with the lighting and watching sideways (it's a good thing I'm seeing my Chiropractor this afternoon), but that's what it looks like.

My only other comment is regarding your drill pattern. You've got that ball laid out with an aggressive leverage pattern. Can you really use it on anything other than fresh?

Steven:
Thanks!
Old BAD habit....early thumb timing...I come around the side too much-too early. Believe it or not...it used to me much worse !  Anyhow...I've lowered my track quite a bit and if I really concentrate on it, I look NORMAL!

Leverage....well, not really, it's a hook-set drill designed to roll more forward at the spot instead of sideways (although still strong!). It's 3x5 ..the pin is up and to the right of ring, although you can't see it well from that pic. King of the mill has it set up 'barely' legal to see how it reacts first, then will tweak w/ the target hole, etc...

I've used this ball on fresh, and broken down shots w/ carry-down so far....

Man my neck hurts lol

YOu first step looks as small as mine, but the form looks good.
I am a high tracker myself (pap= 6"x 7/8") comming through the back of the ball
alot like Mika.

I myself use leverage pin drills, and have had the most success with them.
I have tried pin over the bridge, and didn't like it.  I might try something closer to the pap.

One question though, were you sticking in your finger holes?

Jeff: I'm not that familiar with MoRich equipment, but I'm assuming that the heavy white dot a few inches to the right of your thumbhole is the MB. I don't see anything else in your ball picture that I can identify as the MB marking. If I'm correct, that's a drilling to promote high track flare with a sharp breakpoint. If I'm not seeing the markings properly, where is the MB located?
