Robert Smith
« on: May 05, 2005, 01:12:00 PM »
I met Robert Smith tonight. He was very polite. He gave me an autograph with no problems.I asked him after chatting,What was your highest spare speed? He said 32mph.He went on an thrown a ten pin shot 29.68mph.That's fast.It was on Qubica and yes MPH!! He was nice to everyone and talked to anyone who approached him.He even bowled with the local highschool bowling team a few games. He was giving tips and pointers. He wasn't what I expected, which was a great thing. He was the first real probowler I've met,you know not a house pro.I thought he'd be cocky and impatient, nope not at all great guy.I will be cheering for him the next time he is on tv.Anyone have any positive or negative things about him or other pros? Thanks.

This year, at the Armed Forces Military Classic, I met and got to spend a little time with Mr. David Ozio! I have nothing but positive things to say about him! That and I had the pleasure of watching him roll a few practice games. He by far is the smoothest bowler that I have ever seen.  He took time to look at my equipment and even went as far as suggesting some things after watching me throw a few. GREAT GUY!

a lot of the pros on tour are real class act guys having met most of them during the cambridge credit classic...the nicer players in particular, at least from my experience were parker bohn, robert smith, chris barnes, brad angelo, chris johnson and tony reyes

I bought a ball from Danny Wiseman and have sent him a few e-mails -- not enough to be a stalker, mind you.  Anyway, he's been great -- answers every one I've sent.  The best one was I e-mailed him the Monday after he won the Masters and he got back to me in an hour!!  You don't find that from many athletes who are in the upper echelon of their sport...
