Bowler's Digest
« on: July 16, 2003, 10:29:14 PM »
Just curious if anyone has subscribed to the Bowler's Digest.  I looked online, and it was like $20 for 6 issues (or something like that).  Seemed a little pricey to me, but if it's a great mag I'd look into it.  Any input would be appreciated.

Also, any other great bowling journals out there?  I currently just read BTM, so not sure what all is out there.

Thanks.

Bowling Digest is a bimonthly magazine.  I don't remember exactly what I pay per year but I think it is less than $20.  If you find a copy of the magazine at a newsstand or at a pro shop, look for a subscription coupon inside.  Kimbo has a regular column as does Bill Spigner.  I believe John Jowdy is also a regular contributor.  This past year they had a series by Danny Wiseman that was a diary of his tour performances.

Bowlers Journal http://www.bowlersjournal.com/ has a lot of industry and pro shop information, updates on tournaments from all over the world, and other national and international bowling news.  They also have ball reviews each month.

These two magazines are a bit more commercial than Bowling This Month.  If you are looking for higher level instructional articles and only want to subscribe to one, BTM is your best option in my opinion.

Hope this helps,
Keith

I recently subscribed to the Bowlers Digest after not subscribing to it for 3-4 years and it is not that great. It used to be better than it is today. Other than Bill Springer's column, this magazine is a "DUD" as far as I am concerned. Go with BTM (Bowling This Month) if you are not already subscribing to it.

I prefer BTM over Bowling Digest any day. Actually  as far as bowling magazines go I would rate the top 3 like this:

-Bowling This Month
-Bowlers Journal International
-then maybe Bowling Digest.

Thanks for the input!  I have been a subscriber to BTM for the last year (just renewed!)  However, I just wanted to see what else was out there.  I may look into the bowlers jounal though.   Thanks again.
