OOB/Reverse Block
« on: March 05, 2004, 12:04:39 AM »
Ok, I've read these and have a general understanding of them, but what is the difference between an OOB and a reverse block?  I want to know since my house seems to put out what you guys describe as one of these...anything pushed right will not make it back.  I think it's an OOB, but I don't really know how to tell, since I don't really know the full definition.

Thanks.

From what info I've aquired, an OB is not quite as difficult as a reverse. The OB is outside of....10....I think, where as a reverse is outside..15? Correct me if Im wrong Im just kind of guessing, please dont yell at me!

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

BK, I'm gonna tell your mom on you!

I just realized how little oil the palace has...I went to Frazer, and I got a bunch of oil rings, but at the Palace, there is nothing...

Ok, thanks, that means the Palace (local house) puts up an OOB, since it doesn't over react in the middle.

No, that would make the lane suck.

OK, I understand everything now, thanks.

an oob is like the sideline in football...once u cross it, the shot is dead.  there could be a walled up house shot that has an oob, as the wall could end at the 3rd board or so and have solid oil up the outside 3 boards of the lane.  as long as u keep it inside of there, its like bowling on a 34 board house shot.  a reverse block is exactly what it says...the oil is in the opposite position that you are used to on the lane.  any time there is more oil on the outer 2/3 of the lane(typically the outer 10 boards on each side), than on the inner section(2nd arrow to second arrow), its a reverse block.  theres no easy part of the lane to play...going from really deep and tring to keep it around the 12th or 13th board is what i usually try to play...but noone really gets a chance to practice at them.  hope this helps
