FWIW my donkee got hot very quickly and always worried me a lot. WHile it never shut down, it was a worrisome detail that should not have existed on a machine with its purpose. It is one reason I got rid of it, at a loss, and bought a Vertex. It takes a LOT of use for the Vertex is even begin to feel slightly warm. I never worry about it.
Great one, if you donkee dies, I'd recommend a Vertex. Additionally it seems to have a lot more torque, which would seem to be mor eimportant than the Donkees horsepower. (For cars, torque governs acceleration and ability to move mass; horsepower governs top speed.)
