Many of you will enjoy bowling on conditions where your 200 average is earned....also, on the flip side, more of you usbc bowlers will complain and/or leave the game/alley if you bowled on conditions like the ones I've bowled on in Guam.

My friend has the pattern changed (WTBA for leagues) for their leagues throughout the season. I found that to be very interesting and wished the houses did the same back in California...but, we are spoiled and I know many will leave the game if they can't score..spend all this money on equipment and don't average par - sad. A 185 190 is respectable here in Guam. It's like how it was back in the day....

And, in the area/house I bowl at back in Cali, nobody does $5 or $10 pot games...man, all that green cash between 10 bowlers getting passed around just made me salivate - even when I donated $50 last night (I'm in Guam)...at least I got one side pot..oh, speaking of side pots, that can run $20 or more between bowlers.

I had a blast even for my short stay here...these guys are good bowlers and friendly too..I just met a few of them for the first time...I was the "state side guy" last night whom all knew I bowl on a wall shot..kinda embarrassing when they mentioned that. "Give me deuce, or I'll cut loose."

Not that it is the same thing, but I never bowled for more money than I did when I lived in Hawaii in the early 90s.  I had walked out of league one night with over $2000.  Hawaii even  had their own televised bowling.  Was lucky to make one of the shows.  The people there just seemed to enjoy the competitive nature of bowling more so than the mainland.  I doubt it is much different today.

Currently stationed and bowling in Hawaii and they don't do the televised bowling anymore sadly. Everyone always talks about how fun it used to be. Still competitve as hell but you know the laid back nature of everyone in Hawaii. Everyone is considered ohana. Pots are still nice as well.

I was stationed in Kaneohe and lived in Kailua.  Didn't get away from that side too often unless there was a bigger tournament somewhere.  Pali Lanes is where we had some of our best times and best events.
