charlest,
Oops, I replied late last night and realized that I should clarify why I think he could get away with the Aggressive in this case and that not all rev dominate players could. I'll give you my thought process so be prepared for a long read
I tried to take a lot of factors when suggesting the Aggressive. His rotation is similar to mine and since I've had so much success with it on a wide range of light-mediums to medium-heavy, it should match up to him as well. I've also had lots of success with the Aggressive/Heat as combos.
Second, it seems that he's bowling on better surfaces and a little higher oil volume than what I encounter. This is from watching his video, seeing the layouts of his strong balls (GP2, Delta, etc), being out West several times and also having a few friends that just moved out there. All of them mentioned how their balls hooked at their feet out here but is needed to even read out there
.
Lastly, the ball itself. The RG is high enough to not burn. The particle load and type is such that it blends out the pattern but there's enough kick to keep it in play for longer periods than other particles. I've used the Aggressive for 7-8 games without having to switch off which is rare for me and particles.
I've typed all that
to say that because of the high flare potential and his rev rate, I wouldn't go with a specialty drill like 2 x 2 or Rico. It would make it too condition specific as you mentioned. I would go with a 5 1/2" pin under the fingers about an inch above the midline. with the CG kicked out just enough to give 3/4oz side. I would leave it at box and throw it several games on a fresh shot to self polish and then go from there to see how it compares to his other stuff. He would then have lots of options to tweak it. 2000/4000 grit Abralon is great. Or different weight holes (on axis or down low, etc).
Now that I've bored you to death with my response....
