This place is awesome.  Not much in the way of competitive bowling but if we are just talking "nice" this takes the cake.

Fireside lanes in Sacramento(Citrus Heights) CA. Every time i've been they have never had any short oiled pattern. It's always been a medium/heavy oiled pattern with good backends which I like, and so does my Smokin Inferno!

Creekside is very good to people. I've not bowled league there so I can't speak to that but I'd be shocked if it was anything other than top-notch.

Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tenn., is the best "big" house I've ever bowled league in, thanks to the ownership.

Bama Lanes in Prattville, Ala., is the best for small houses. In addition to everything else they do during the year for league bowlers, they have a free-food, free-beer "league bowler appreciation party" every year in their bar/restaurant as well as other events during the year. Lots of tournaments, and they support their youth programs big-time.

Flaherty's Arden Bowl, Arden Hills, MN. Dedicated youth staff, cheap league fees, and discounts and free bowling for all league bowlers.

The heck with posh centers, I'll take Beverly Lanes in Arlington Heights, Ill., any time. Place is owned by Les and Lyle Zikes, they take care of everything well, they'll put out different patterns for you, and the game prices (especially if you bowl league there) are hard to beat.

national bowling stadium in reno is the best center in the world for real bowling.  no open play to trash the approaches and a great and supportive management team.  if you have ever run a tournament there, you know what i mean.

Kearney Mesa Bowl in San Diego.  Big house. Clean house.  The lanes appeared well taken care of.  Also, the pro shop is the best I've been to.

Shame I don't live there anymore.

Stadium has not been that accomodating.  Staff that watches the lanes are inattentive and ancient.  Watching them input PBA scores live, I had to correct quite a few, while watching them.

We booked our sweepers there and they decided to replace the pin machines leaving our 20 4 man league with 10 lanes for sweepers.  They overbooked the place considering they were doing construction which we also had no idea they were doing while we were scheduled.  Nor did they tell us until we walked i to doors.  This caused a huge problem, and delayed our sweepers by .....oh just about 4 hours!!!  People missed shows they'd bought tickets for, hotel rooms had to be ordered for additional days due to the lateness of our now changed time schedule.  We actually didn't get pay outs until about midnight, again due mostly to the 4 hour late start.
