BEST BALL COMPANY
« on: March 16, 2004, 01:56:36 AM »
I HEAR PEOPLE TALK ABOUT WHICH COMPANY THEY THINK IS THE BEST BOWLING BALL COMPANY. BUT IS THERE REALLY SUCH THING? I THINK THAT A GOOD BOWLER SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE ANY BOWLING BALL AND STILL SCORE WELL. THE COMPANY TELLS YOU HOW POWERFUL AND HARDHITTING THEIR BOWLING BALLS ARE. FOR EXAMPLE, LANE 1 (NO OFFENSE TO ANY LANE 1 FANS) TELLS US HOW GOOD THEIR EQUIPMENTS ARE BUT HOW COME I DON'T SEE ANY OF THEIR PRO ON TELEVISION? IF THERE REALLY IS THE BEST COMPANY, THEN SHOULDN'T WE BE SEEING THEY WIN AT LEAST 80% OF THE TOURNAMENTS????? JUST BECAUSE WALTER RAY WILLIAM JUNIOR, PETE WEBER, BRIAN VOSS, ETC. ARE GOOD BOWLERS AND WIN A LOT OF TIMES DOESN'T SPECIFICLY MEAN THAT THE COMPANY THAT'S SPONSORING THEM ARE THE BEST. IN MY OPINION, IT'S A PROPAGANDA TO SAY THAT A SPECIFIC COMPANY'S EQUIPMENT IS THE BEST. BECAUSE TRUTH IS THERE'S NO SUCH THING. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? SOME COMMENTS?

As my friend said, you could wear Vince Carters shoes, but you aint gonna be able to play like him.  A driller in my area told me the following.  there is no best company.  All the big companies are good.  But just stick to one company when you buy your bowling balls.

Because the question has no rational answer. Everyone has their own opinion, which by definition cannot be wrong. You don't really want the bottom line: the best company is the one who sells the most balls. Since they do not relase such figures to the public, you and I will never know.

I have owned balls from every company; every company has both balls that worked well for me and balls that did not work so well for me. No one makes all great balls and no one makes all terrible balls. Know your game, read all the reviews everywhere, and watch people bowl. Then choose your balls or let your driller choose your balls from one company or many.

All companies make all different types of balls. In the past (in which many people here still live) ball companies had reputations for certain types of balls: early revving, later revving, hook early, go long & hook hard, etc., etc.. That is no longer true, no matter what anyone says. Every company makes every type of ball.
