Need a dry lane ball
« on: February 01, 2005, 06:05:12 AM »
I currently don't have anything for dry lanes, and the state and county tourneys are coming up.  I'm looking for something with a high rg and low differential.  I don't really want to drop all the way down to a urethane.  Any suggestions?

My current "arsenal" is:

Track GP2 - for heavy oil (i pick this up tomorrow)
Vicious Strike - med/heavy
Depth Charge - med/heavy
Apocalypse - med
Throttle/R - med/light (not really for light, but that's when I use it)
**missing a dry lane ball**
White Dot

I feel like some of these balls overlap, but I'm not ready to revamp my whole arsenal.  I Welcome all comments on this as well.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Ice still has Pearlized Trimax on it which is ebonite's most aggressive Resin coverstock.  It is by no means a dry lane ball.  The description on the tech sheet even says it's for mediums.  You'll probaly want to look into a three piece ball with a bit of built in flare so you'll still get enough angle on the backend to kick out the corners.  Look into a Raspberry/Ice Green Tornado, Red/Teal Powergroove, or Storm Big Hit Pearl.  The big hit pearl is an excellent dry lane ball that finishes like the big boys when the lanes are dry enough for it to be played.

I'd say Storm Big Bit. I'm a Stormer all the way, but to me the Big Hit is a great dry lanes ball. Tweek it some and you'd be surprised what all you can do with it.
My 2 cents are up.
