Does anybody knows this about C_J ?
« on: March 02, 2005, 01:19:29 AM »
I am 23 years old and i have benn playing around the world representing my country since i was a junior ..and i have bowl against a lot of great players: nathan bohr, chirs loschetoer, sean rash, david haynes, derek sapp, kelly kulick, diandra asbasty, shannon buchan, scott norton, etc
How is possible that C_J beeing such a great bowler as he is i have never seein him in the team usa?
he never tried to make it? did he go straight from his THS to the pba tour?
Because i know a lot of bowlers: Chris Barnes,Pat Healey,Rick Stellsmit,Bill Rowe,Mika koivuniemi,Tore Torgessen,Tim Mack,Osku Palermaa,Anders Ohman and even Amleto Monacelli in his time...they decided to go to the tour because the have got beat everybody on international fields and they could measure their skills with the best bowlers in the whole world and playing in a lot of countryes with a different lane conditions and the have won consistently...
How does this Guys Like C_J or DJ Archer know that they were good enough to make it to the tour???
Sory for my pooor english

CJ..Thanks a lot man.I hope u didnt take in the wrong way my question...i was just wondering because i always check pba.com and in the pt qualifier there are always names from guys that i know in tournaments and it feels great to see how somebody that u bowl against ,and even sometimes u beat its right now bowling at the highest level.
Even so its my dram-goal to become a pro-bowler someday the things that u told me on ur leagues are nearly impossible to imagine on my country argentina (just think that there only 2 guys above 200 average(215.213) and, me and another one,and the third is coming like 10 pins down in 300 games,so u go figure than nobody wants to play pot games or brackets here)So i want to know how can i know that i ve got game not to win but to try on tour.
Here in Miami visiting my father i feel like i am on disneyland i play pot games everynight and with 220 i get my assx beat and its even a better challenge for my mental game that for my phisical.
I hope i could meet u sometime...its just that i have only one more year left to get my degree on business in argentina and i got a pretty nice job,so its quite difficult for me to go to bowl regionals or stuffs like that..but i still bowl 4 or 5 international tournaments representing my country
Thank a lot for taking time to answer me
Hope u do great on tour

CJ great response. I don't know much about you but after reading that and watching you in Birmingham I have a whole new respect for you. Not for sure what happened in Birmingham looks like you pulled a leg muscle or something. To finish out the way you did was great. I know being in the level you are in it is almost expected to finish off no matter how much pain you are in. But watching you grimace in pain after every ball and finish strong desrves someone to say thanks for showing the tuffness there. Best  of luck the rest of the season.

jonah...I have bowled against and with many of the bowlers that you have mentioned. Mostly when they were junior, since I am still junior, and usually at Jr. Gold, or JWTC. A lot of people want to make their countries team, and make it their dream to do so...and some dont. I know a lot of people where it is important to them to make, where as in to me, it is not that big of a deal. I already am planning on bowling next years Amateur Championships for my first time to see how I do, but as I said it is not that important to me. Many of the current pros did not come from Team USA or any countries team, but from the amateur ranks. C_J that was a great post, and it is great to see how professionals came up, and when they decided they wanted to try the pro ranks. Thank you.

You are just saying that because you are one of the FEW codgers that beats up on CJ when he's home.

Yeah CJ, good post.  Keep strong Brother, you'll have a bunch of titles when it's all said and done.  Even though you should have already had one, it will make it that much more special when you toss that Thunderstrike for the cheese

I can't believe how great it is that the professionals in this sport will actually come on this board, identify themselves and put themselves out there for us.  I belong to a few golf boards and very few, if any, of the top players visit the site, let alone actually identify themselves as such.  CJ - you're a brave soul and thanks for all your input!!
