Need a new bag
« on: December 05, 2007, 12:42:45 PM »
I need a new 4 ball bag, mine has officially fallen apart. I've been advised that the Brunswick and KR lines are the best. Any suggestions on which bag in specific is the most favorable, and the best place to get it. I just ordered a pair of shoes from Buddies online pro shop so I was thinking I would probably order from them. Any suggestions?

KR makes the Brunswick stuff. I will say KR stands behind their product. Their warranty service is great. Only brand I would buy.

We bought my dad a columbia high roller 4 ball bag for christmas this year & i recieved it today. In my opinion, you'd be hard pressed to beat this bag on appearance & features. I've seen some people on here talk like columbia bags aren't very good in quality & I've never owned 1, so I don't know about their durability. But looking at it I can't see any flaws with the bag & in my opinion a bag should last a lifetime unless you're just taking it out every night & beating the holy hell out of it.
I also agree with buying from bowlingball.com. I ordered this bag sunday & got it today, so they're pretty fast about shipping. This was the 1st order I've had with them & I am very pleased.

For a 4 ball roller, IMO, nothing better than a Storm StreamLine. Three wheels, I've had mine for 4 years and it looks brand new. Never tips over, easy to take apart to load, zippers never stick just a super bag.

It just seems a bad sign to me that when I look in the catalogue for Brunswick (and I assume KR) that they are selling replacement handles and wheels.  I know I recently had problems with my StormPro roller with the wheels, but that was largely due to abuse I know it wasn't designed to take, and Storm sent me replacement parts at no charge.  I know my brother has used a Storm 4 ball roller for a number of years without much of a complaint-other than the size, and it being a PITA to haul around.  But he usually just grabed the top section.  But that was more for the 4 ball rollers in general, than anything to do with the Storm product.  I just wish a company would put something out with more than a 600.

Though I just looked at the Brunswick/KR bags.  It looks like they have some 900 offerings.  So the fabric will probably hold up better than Storms, but I have to wonder about the hardware.  And the 600 in my totes and roller hasn't had any issues in 4 years of use.

I can see why they sell replacement handles and wheels for bags. Wheels will get chewed up by asphalt no matter how good the bag is. Handles can get bent if you happen to drop the bag as you are walking.

I have seen bags with bent handles and chewed up wheels many times. So I can see why they sell replacements for them.

As far as a bag goes, I really like Big B/KR bags. The warranty is second to none and they seem to last. I have given bags away, not because they were no longer useful, but because I needed a bigger one or received one as a gift.

It is my personal belief that U.S. Americans should buy the Storm Rolling Thunder 4 ball roller.  That bag is quite durable and is pimped out to the max.  Tons of pouches to put all your favorite stuff also.

I also like the way the thing fits together.  No annoying straps or anything just fit the top piece into the bottom and there is a clip on the back.  If you want a two ball bag to go practice or something you just easily take the top piece off.

Also, if you go to www.stormbowling.com, they have a PDF catalog that shows pictures inside the bag and whatnot.

As an alternative, there is this Roto Grip bag which almost looks exactly the same except for a couple slight differences.
