Need a new ball!
« on: September 21, 2009, 03:43:14 AM »
Hey all... I'm not going to tell you how I bowl or what my average is, or whether my house has wood or synthetics, but I want you to tell me what new ball to get.

I want something that HOOKS right off my hand and rolls out at 20ft.  Then, I want it to HIT so hard that the pins catch fire and melt.... But I want a smooth transition when it gets dry, so whatever ball you suggest should let me play the 5th arrow at the start of league, and then let me play up the ditch by the 3rd game.

Oh, and it has to be purple.

Alright, just what we like, somebody that knows what they want!  We don't need to know any of that other information - all balls basically react the same no matter the conditions or who is throwing them!

These are my recommendations - strictly based on price and color.....those are the most important things to consider.  And remember, purple balls hook the most!

Also, I'd stay away from any ball that costs less than $130.  Anything that cheap couldn't possibly be a good ball!

Thanks for the suggestions, but I changed my mind... I saw a guy using a purple ball today, and it kept leaving 7-10s.  I have decided that it has to be green and blue, but not a Thunder Road SE.  I threw that ball for 10 games and didn't get a 300, so it has been blacklisted.

You could try this - http://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/6964/Track_505C_Bowling_Ball_.htm

Personally I don't think you'll be happy with it.  It's a 5 series, so it's the bottom of the line for Track.  It's basically like buying a BMW 3-series or a Mercedes C-class just to say you drive a luxury car.

Green and blue is going to be tough.  Maybe a year or so ago you would've found one from every company, but not now.  I think they all realized that green balls don't really hook, and let's face it, nobody wants blue balls.

Edit:

Maybe this Storm ball - http://123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=3202.  It's pretty aggressive so you might have to polish it a little bit.

You'll have much better luck if you go overseas:

http://123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=3158 - and the bonus is that everybody will know that you are using a Premium ball!

http://123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=3124

http://123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=1940 - it has to hook, it's right there on the ball!

I sincerely hope that your comment was heavily tongue-in-cheek.  Mine certainly was.

In case you are engaging in a little ecological fallacy fun, here's an interesting note for you:  I voted for McCain and Bush (twice).  I am a conservative, though not a religious one.  I am also under 30.  Find another stereotype to complain about.

Well, it's fairly clear that Jug and I are the only ones capable of listening to the customer's needs.

I was trying to avoid any discontinued items, but since Jug opened that door, I found the perfect 2 balls for you:

http://123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=2887

http://123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=2983

I know you said you wanted a green and blue ball, but I threw in the other ball in case you decide to go back to purple.

Personally, I would stick with purple.  Research has shown that purple balls are better!

You shouldn't have any problem bowling a 300 within the first 10 games with either ball.  They put the 300 in the name for a reason!

Good luck with your new ball.

I can't verify nor discredit this statement, as I've never thrown one myself...yet.

But...

I hear Lane #1 performs miracles.

* Please note I am not a Lane 1 hater.  I have no opinion on this ball company good nor bad, because I have not had the chance to use their equipment.  This post is intended for funny only.  No more, no less.  Anyone who responds in an upset manner, due to the nature of my post, has no concept of humor and doesn't belong on teh intarwebzorz lawl!!1one11!!
