Need advice
« on: December 27, 2012, 12:13:37 PM »
I was a right handed tweener throwing the ball about 14-15mph but due to injury I can only throw 11-12mph now. Had to change my style from mostly down and in around the track to standing left and throwing between 15 & 20 and swing it out to the track and letting it come back. A lot of times I cant control the hook because of the slow speed. Throwing a burst and alpha max. Any ideas for a ball with less hook?

I would get something like a Tropical Breeze and, depending on your PAP, put the pin next to your ring finger, cg center grip, and no weight hole.  The weaker cover will allow you to square up and play where you normally like to and the layout will help to control the backend.  Keep it simple.  At 11-12 mph with high end stuff, even adding polish is going to make the balls even more uncontrollable downlane.  It will help the balls to get to the spot.  But once it gets there, it will release any energy it has left and be even more jerky.

Which one of the Tropical Breezes would you recommend?

Truthfully, considering what you currently have, you cant go wrong with any of them.  Since the core is very weak, you are only relying on the cover anyway.  So, whichever one catches your eye would be the one I would go with.

Agree with TWOHAND on this one....need very little core.  Depending on how much the balls are rolling out on the back urethane may be a possibility as well.

There is a new Hammer coming out that might fit the bill
Arson Low flare, very weak core, extremely smooth arcing motion
very predictable
add a little surface and its just a bit stronger
WWR is feb 8 I believe

Should be a little bit stronger than my 300t
