Need An Excuse
« on: December 09, 2013, 09:03:42 PM »
I'm trying to find a reason to justify adding a Hyroad Pearl or Deranged to my arsenal. I'm concerned about overlap with my IQTP and Tribal.

IQTP is 70 x 5 x 45 with hole on my Val and Tribal is 60 x 4 1/4 x 40 p3.

Any help is appreciated.

If you have the money and the itch buy one or both and see what they are about.  I sold my Venom Strike and Tribal as too much overlap.  No point in taking balls that do the same thing for me.  Less equipment is more for me generally as long as the strength and ball motion give me a good match up and better carry.

Not sure about the Tribal, but the Hyroad Pearl or Deranged will not overlap with an IQTP. Both balls are way better choices to get in with.

I've said it since its inception, the iQTP is an awful choice when you have to get In and wheel the lane, the diff is just too low. When you move into the oil, the ball just doesn't pick up but if you get it to the dry too soon, it slows down to quick.

In summary, iqTP is better on the oil line or going straighter through the front or when the lane has blended.  Hyroad pearl and deranged are much better when opening up your launch angles.

That's all dependent on bowlers and their stats with lane condition IMO. Bowler can post their stats and condition it's easier to help.

I've seen many players use IQTP's inside deep in my area but their stats. and condition warranted usage.

I still say the OP has a lot of balls there that overlap.

Stats: 350/375 revs, 18 off hand, 5-10* tilt, 45* rotation.

IQTP is way better for me on fresh and/or playing straighter.

Tribal is more versatile than IQTP if I move in but also has a more defined breakpoint playing outside.

Thinking 50 x 4 x 50 or 50 x 5 x 50 on a hyroad pearl or deranged to read the mids a touch more but be more of a hard driving finish.

I had a Disturbed I absolutely LOVED for around 30 games 50 x 4 x 50 p3 until it lost its bite. Tried several surface changes and never got it back. I couldn't throw that ball thru the breakpoint no matter what. Kind of looking for that same motion with hyroad pearl or deranged.

Can it work?

I noticed my disturbed picks up a lot of oil. I have about 25 games now and I took to 360 and soaked in warm water. Then adrenaline wipe to remove oil. Back to 500/1000/2000/3000 where I like it and it's like new. It needed to be soaked

I tried to soak as well. Just couldn't get it back. Who knows?

My Disturbed does pick up a lot of lane shine.  A scuff with an abralon pad brings mine back to life.
