I myself am in need a of a weaker ball. Light to dry... Will explain further..
My arsenal is as follows...
Soup- Super Freak
Med/Heavy- Animal Untamed
Med- Revmaster
Light/Dry - Nothing
Dirt/Spare- Dragon
I was searching. I read a post. I saw the opinions. I feel I do not have the hand to make the XXXL move on dry like I would want. The last thing I like to do on dry is hook. I like to play down and end on dry. Something similar to Walter Rays normal shot. I previously decided power groove but after reading some said it was for more of the light side of medium, which discouraged me some. The dry heat from track would be nice but it is too strong some say.
So... What would be my best option? Did I rule out some good choices? LMK. Thanks.

Soup- Nothing and looking.
Med/Heavy- Freak, Revmaster, original Apex
Med- Heat, Thrash
Light/Dry- Sonic X Solid
Dirt/Spare- Dragon
Got Sonic X last year. Not a weak ball, but perfect on medium light.

Big Hit for light oil conditions

I am a mid rev/mid speed stroker and my ball for dry or light oil conditions is a TPC Shooter (early, light purple version), drilled for medium oil. It is a strong ball, but I can only play it effectively when my typical lanes (30' oil, clean backend) run dry and I lose control of my medium oil stuff (Storm Eraser Particle Pearl and stronger).
The Shooter generates quite a lot of hook, though, maybe it is too tough for your purpose?

I think I have decided on the Red/Teal Pearl Power Groove. Mainly b/c price and I dont recall hearing too many complaints on power grooves.
