I went to the lanes last night. Hadn't picked up a ball since April. Threw 4 games. There were bowlers on both sides of me. Just by watching him he bowls really well. He throws a 245 game. I happen to notice and told him "nice game". He replies "Thanks". Real nice guy.
Now the guy to the right. He is bowling with his father. Can hear them talking (Not sure what about...really not paying attention). I throw my first game. Trying to work the kinks out. Not really worried about score. Same goes for second and third games. I am not sure what the scores were...but I guarantee they weren't even close to 200.
By the middle of the third game, this guy is getting louder!
I hear him saying things to his dad....."I am not showing off!!! Do you want me to start showing off!! "Do you want me to show off like him!" Then he proceeds to point to me! He keeps saying this stuff over and over. Watching him throw...I could clearly see he threw with more speed and revs than me. He was so proud of his high hooking ball. Made comments about how he couldn't keep it on the right side.
Well after my third game, They appeared to be leaving for the night. This guy notices I am going to throw another game. So he decides to throw one more game. I could see he was looking at my score. I guess we were going to have this head-to-head match.
Alright! I am thinking to myself. Let's see what happens.
It wasn't even close. He threw like 160 something and I was in the 230s. He stopped the trash talking after that.
Clearly this dude thought he was "it" and nobody there that night was in his caliber. Obviously he didn't see the scores the guy on the other side of me shot. Cause I am sure he wouldn't have been talking like he was.
But REALLY .... It's PRACTICE!! Why do some need to have this pissing contest every time on the lanes?
