Need help choosing a ball!
« on: July 17, 2004, 04:12:39 AM »
Hi, everyone!

Well, I am looking for a really tame ball. Something for when the lanes dry out. Say light oil to dry. Something I can play a little straighter with or maybe swing a little. I currently use my cherry bomb and thats it! It works great on fresh shot but when it breaks down I half to play the entire lane and change so many things I'd just rather use a weaker ball. I want a ball that carries good and hits hard. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Also, if you happen to have a used one of the suggestions in 15# maybe we can make a deal I am looking for something fairly cheap though b/c I am getting my first vehicle in a week and you know how that goes. LMK. Thanks again!

Sling Blade is a very good choice- another ball that I think is very good for light oil to dry oil is Storm's Barbed Wire. It's definitely a ball that you wouldn't want to cover a ton of boards with but gets the job done where there isn't much left out on the lanes.

I have heard the sling blade is too strong for those conditions. I have been considering a barbed wire. How should I drill it? Also, any one got one in good condtion for cheap? LMK. Thanks.

I'd suggest something from the Hit series. Maybe a Big Hit. Good dry lane balls at a cheap price.

But how good are they at carry? I have been pretty interested in barbed wire but I guess I am open things... Anyone have anything to say for the hit series?

Kyle,

Buy a tornado or a barbed wire and save your money on anything over 100, remember i told you big bucks is not always what gets you the best ball for the shot. I have an extra tornado for 40.00 shipped but after redrilling you are better off to buy locally-barry
