Need help increasing axis tilt!!
« on: March 01, 2010, 03:08:16 AM »
So I have an axis tilt of 10 degrees and I want to create more diversity in my game. I know how to increase axis rotation but I am struggling to increase the axis tilt. I feel I would stand a much better chance on a house shot with more axis tilt at times.

you can add some loft to your release, move your hand more to the side of the ball and/or focous on rotating your hand around the side of the ball at release.could also tuck the pinkie and spread the pointer.try adjusting the surface some and can also do alot with lay outs and pitches if nothing else works.

Not rolling out just hit about 35 feet and start going left and keep going left. I use about 60 degrees axis rotation but can use more or less. But if I go less it usually will roll out and hit like crap even high RG equipment. If I go higher it just makes it even more uncontrollable and maybe even worse.

I think more tilt and rotation would just give you more backend off the dry.I have better luck useing less rotation as long as it works and then move deeper and adjust with my speed and a little more rotation. I would think less surface and less rotation should be an option.

Sarge easter grip is helping me, Tim.

A half ten is not a great shot.  No, you shouldn't have carried it.

http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/roncarchive.htm  - Tips 35 - 38 should be helpful.

From Tip 36,:

quote:
Axis Tilt

Too much axis tilt will be one thing to watch out for once you get up to full speed. Too much axis tilt will make the ball have a hard time “reading” the lane. Excessive axis tilt is caused by the fingers going around the thumb instead of taking a position directly below the thumb at the point of release.
