I haven't thrown a ball in years and yesterday I decided I wanted to start up again.  My main ball is fairly old and needs to be updated I think.  I currently throw a blue Piranha/C for most of my throws and a blue dot Hammer for the 10 pin.  I am one of those unique bowlers who doesn't use a thumb.  I've averaged just over 200 with this method so you can't say it doesn't work.    Typically i stand on the 2nd and 3rd dot from and toss the ball slightly outwards and let the ball snap in the pocket towards the end of the lane.  I sometimes have to adjust if the lanes aren't really oiled.  My friend wants to enter a league at a place that has brand new synthetic lanes that have medium oil conditions.  Can somebody recommened a really nice ball for me?  Money is of no concern.  Thanks

The best thing to do, is go into your pro shop and tell the operator the 2 most important things when purchasing a ball, the typw of ball reaction you are looking for and the price range as to what you want to pay, and they can point you in the right direction.  What I worry about, is that if he has some older resin, I would not want him to suffer from culture shock with the new stuff.  I would recommend something around a Vortex 2 by Ebonite.  We do not know in detail how he rolls the ball outside of being a no thumber, so it would be hard to suggest something on the high end.  You could also go with balls like the Wicked or Hyde by Columbia, possibly a Hot Rod by Storm, or something else in the mid performance line.  I know there are alot of Lane #1 freaks out there.  But, we need to be more broad in our suggestions.  I agree with the last post about a solid Messenger.  I think that would be an excellent choice.  Drew, if you go with something with more of an even reaction, you will benefit more from that than grabbing a ball that may be uncontrollable and out of your price range as well.  Good luck to you in choosing the ball that best fits what you are looking for.
