Don't know if anyone goes through this but I've been hitting the gym for the past 4 months and lately my 15lbs equipment seem kinda light. I wanna go up to 16lbs but don't know any benefit or downfall. Anyone experience this before, please give me your best advice. Thanks

Positives
- more hitting power
Negatives
- more hitting power (can be too much at times, depending on your strength and rev rate)
- lower ball speed (depends on how long it takes to get used to the heavier weight)
- rev rate may change (just the fact that it changes means a different ball reaction)
- if you're not strong enough, you can get tired quicker or lose that firm or cupped wrist in the later stages of league or long tournaments.
Neutral
- RGs and RG differentials and MB strengths are different in 15s from 16s, sometimes more/higher, sometimes lower/fewer. This means a different drilling is required to get the same ball reaction, depending on rev rate and ball speed

I read in the USBC study that pin carry goes down when going to heavier equipment. IE 15 to 16. It has a lot to do with the fact the deflection is limited. I won't get into how but you can read the study results at bowl.com
Personally I would love my 15lb equipment to feel light. You would have much more control: swing line, hand positions, increased/decreased rev rate. If you carry isn't really effected I wouldn't make the change. Once you stop going to the gym going from 16 back to 15 might be a whole lot harder than you think.

sound logical. Don't know my rev rate is but at this alley I was throwing from 17-21 mph. Don't know how reliable is that.
