Making Progress
« on: September 21, 2004, 04:44:45 AM »
Just wanted to share this with you guys.

As some of you know, I finally made the investment in a coach this summer. Before I started my lessons, my highest average coming off the winter leagues was a 178. Well, I worked with my coach all summer, finished my summer league at a 187 and now in each of my winter leagues am averaging 205 on Monday nights and 198 on Thursday. This is through 4 weeks. I have never been as consistent on the lanes as I have been as of late. I honestly wouldnt have pursued a coach if it werent for many of you beating it into the heads of others that a coach increases ones game, not a new ball!! I am glad I made the investment and am shooting for my first 700 this year and to keep the average at or above 200 for the whole season.

I will keep you all updated as the season progresses.

Yeah, my coach and I have developed a great relationship. He invited me to bowl on his team for Nationals!! I still have quite a few lessons left with him before the package is done. Even after that, I will still see him for routine "check ups" and "tune ups". Plus its nice to have someone there when you start to struggle.

Rock77--Hopefully you have a tape of before you started with coaching.  It's really an eye opener if you refer back to where you started to where you are or will be.

Yes, I got a 10 lesson package with 2 additonal video sessions. We already taped the first session so I should have that one soon. The second one will probably be taped over the next month or so.

Rock 77: Great work and please keep us up to date on your progress. I think I need to seek out the services of a coach as I'm in a weird spare shooting slide (some nights I miss only one, other nights I'm missing 4 to 5 easy ones) and I think a tune up is in order to get this back on track.
