Did anyone notice the news in BJI this month? Woodhaven is going to reopen under new ownership.

Have a link for that, or is it only in print (not at home to see if I have it). I take it since it is reopening, it will not be under AMF/Bowlmor?

I don't see it in the electronic version. I'll get the page number of the print edition tonight. I noticed it last night when reading the new edition. They even mentioned the guys name who bought it, so it's not going to be Bowlmor.

It also mentioned an upgrade of some equipment. Lanes, pin setters etc. Looks promising for anyone near Woodland. Although, the location is still a pain in the a** to get too!

Maybe, but if done right, this could be the kick in the pants the other alleys need to finally get off their butts and renovate their pinsetters, lanes, etc. Rumour has it that some of the pinsetters here have over 500,000 games on them, if not more. If so, some are in dire need of a refresh.

Always good to hear news like this... I hope they bring back pot games, but I doubt they will. I think the gm who worked there bought a center out if state with her husband. But my memory isn't that good, so I could be wrong.

The item about Woodhaven is on page 74 of the March BJI.

Your memory is correct on this one. The last GM was Diana Cavins. Diana and her husband Lonnie bought a bowling alley in Southern Nevada.

In the "People/Places?Things" section of the March edition of BJI is the mention of Woodhaven being reopened.

The new name will be San Bruno Bowling Center. Which makes no sense, as Woodland is no where close to San Bruno.

The owner is Salvator Muzzi.

Yeah, Lonnie put up shop after wayne webb left town here in Sactown for a short time - again, I don't remember if he came right after WW left lol.

I hope they are doing well, they're nice peoples. And Lonnie did a wonderful job working with me when I need some adjustments with my span/angles.....

What is with the new name though lol.....

I was wondering about the new name as well. Woodland is no where near San Bruno. LOL

Yea, Lonnie is a good dude. Before Diana became the GM at Woodhaven, Lonnie had the pro shop there, but afterwards he took over the pro shop at Land Park. So that would be after Wayne Webb.

hey Milo, do you bowl match club? we probably crossed but not sure.....

I may be looking for a driller close to sactown, I need to recheck my span - most likely redo my pitches on my finger(s).

Hopefully get this done by summer, or before I leave to go overseas (to bowl lol)

Yep, sure do. I bowl with Manteca mostly. But I will bowl the away matches with West Lane now and then.

Close to Sac, you probably want to head out to Fireside. Or drive to Stockton and see Dave Bolles at Pacific Ave.
