trick pin
« on: March 14, 2006, 11:27:27 PM »
Monday night I was bowling well.  Shot a clean series, 683.  I would have shot 700 but the strangest thing happened.  I was on a double, threw a great shot, everything hit the deck..  but then the 7 pin bounced around and popped back up.  I didn't even know that was possible.  Luckily everyone on my pair saw it.

Has this ever happened to anyone else??

Unfortunatly yes
In the same game of league one night I had a 10 pin spin around hit the deck and come back as a 9 pin.  2 frames later have a pin hit the 5 from the back and hit the deck and stand as the 3

I had the head pin ricochet off the kickback(sidewall) on a light hit and become the 4 pin.  Stood right up like someone placed it there.  I even had 3 witnesses at the time when it happened.

Not directtly your situation, but I had the occasion that two pins (4 and 5 I guess) fell late on a halfways good pocket hit - they tumbled synchronically into each other and one of this pair was "kicked back" into its upright position while the other fell down. Silly thing!

I still say my favorite spare leaves are the stone 1 pins.

Where you hit flush in the hole, the head pin slides (while standing) back to the head pin spot. I also seen the stone 3 pin (same type of thing) this year.
