Ned help with surface
« on: March 25, 2010, 03:29:45 AM »
I'm bowling in a tourney at a house that had really dry lanes last time I bowled there. I want to be prepared this time. I want to change the surface of my Tropical Storm. It is 1500 OOB.
What grit should I bring it up to?  I don't want to go to far that it won't hook.

Thanks in advance

if your tropical storm hooks too early then the next steps would be:

4000 polished

or

2000 or 4000 with a slip agent type of polish.

or

some sort of compound to take it above 1500grit polished oob.

*** 1500grit oob polish is equal to 2000 abralon plus gritless polish. its called 1500grit polished because that is the grit the ball is taken to before they use a compound which actually sands the ball higher then 1500grit then polishes ***

not sure how successful you will be at altering the surface or even choosing the right surface without testing it out, but good luck anyway.

Tropical Storm great selection..

Would suggest 4000 sand will extremely high polish.. Black Magic will do the trick but I dont want this to sound like a commericial. lol
You need a ball with a long pin and that will resolve your problem...
