Need some suggestions here

I'm wanting to move my wife up to 14#. She currently throws a Ice Blue Power Groove 12#er. I need some suggestions for a reasonably priced ball in 14#. Our conditons are med-dry, and she has medium speed. The 12 deflects too much and her carry isn't that great. I'm thinking about a 14 Power Groove, or maybe something with a more aggresive core. thanks for the help.

One of the balls that is gonna be just little more aggresive and not that much more is a Columbia Flipside Wild......it doesn't really have that aggresive of a core but it has a more aggresive coverstock.....and it would work really well....and maybe if you wanted to you could let her stay with a 12 and go up to the Nemesis....it it a aggressive ball that should keep deflection down to a minimum and let her ball drive just alittle more......

The brunswick nemisis isn't really a med-light ball, unless I've gone insane.
What kind of reaction does she want? The flash point would be very good if she wants a controllable, even ball. So that's my suggestion.

shes pretty much a down and in bowler. nice easy arc to the pocket. the Groove has a decent block, I think the low weight is the problem. but maybe a more aggresive core will help too.

Sounds like the flash point is an excellent choice, if she is looking for a bit more reaction and better carry.

Well the Nemesis is a stronger ball.....and the core is stronger too.....which will get the ball in a earlier yet controllable roll.....the reason for deflection is somewhat weight.....but not as much as angle of entry and hook potential.....and also it will probably take about 1-3 months before she settles into a heavier weight.....so look at more aggressive balls in the 12# range instead of going up in weight......

Remember that most ball manufacturers go to pancake cores for balls less than 14 lbs. Don't pay a bunch of $$$ thinking you're getting something you're not. I think Storm makes some 12 lb balls with better cores, but check on whatever you buy. -- JohnP

that's why I figure a 14# will have a good core, the 12 has the same as the other grooves, but something more aggresive I think will carry better, plus the increase in weight.
