THIS CONSISTENCY THING IS FOR THE BIRDS!!!

I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE EASY LIFE!!!

JUST CHUCK IT OUT THERE AND WATCH IT TURN!!!

OOOHHH THE DAYS OF BROOKLYNS AND THROUGH THE NOSE STRIKES!!!!

LIFE WAS SIMPLE AND ENJOYABLE WHEN I WAS FLINGER!!!!

MY AVERAGE HAS DROPPED 12 PINS IN BOTH OF MY LEAGUES!!!

WORKING HARD NOW JUST TO STAY ABOVE 200!!! WON'T BE SURPRISED IF IT GOES EVEN LOWER!!!

WATCHING GUYS AROUND ME THROWING THE BALL ALL OVER THE PLACE AND SCORING LIKE CRAZY THEN TELLING ME HOW TO BOWL!!! AFTER WATCHING THEM BOWL I WOULD LIKE TO TELL THEM THEY HAD A MARK THE SIZE OF TEXAS TO THROW AT, PLUS TWO NOSE SHOTS AND A BROOKLYN IN THAT STRING OF SIX IN ROW, BUT I SMILE AND CONGRATULATE THEM!!!

Okay I feel better now. Nobody I bowl with understands what I am trying to do. Someday this will work out.....I hope.

This is a regular feeling I have in both houses I bowl in, but for different reasons. The house I sub in, too many people that have no clue are averaging 220 plus by flinging somewhere from 10-1 at varying speeds (14-18 mph) and crushing racks left and right...while others who have a clue can't carry much beyond a triple here and there.

In my other house, you have at least 5 bowlers who just pipe it up the 5 board and consistently carry- but they also miss left and right of target every 2nd shot, get a ton of Brooklyns, carry snowplow shots...one guy last week on the grind shot had a 257, and at least 5 of the shots went Brooklyn or were nosejobs.

I just work on my spares on those nights and let the strikes fall where they may.

This is just plain crazy!

I still can't believe it!

Went to league this weekend and the oil machine was not working right (I am guessing it wasn't stripping the oil). Well it was a tough shot. I was the only one to score over 200 the first game. You had to play a tight shot. Too wide the ball wasn't coming back, too shallow and you would leave a split or a ten pin. You had to be consistent!!!

It was fun watching everyone trying to throw it wide and watch the ball not come back. People were getting upset and one guy was complaining that everyone who throw it straight were getting higher scores than him.

It was great!!!

It was even better when they would leave a ten pin and miss the spare because the ball would go into the channel half way down the lane.

I was watching several people and the biggest problem I saw was they didn't move. I couldn't believe it!!!

It was what I needed to see. I still have a long way to go on my game, but this past weekend showed me that my work will pay off in the end.

Did I mention it was Great!!!!

I didn't read your post until I had made my post above about "weird night...tough lane conditions". I experienced the exact same thing last night in league. Guys who had been busting 600s and 700s all of a sudden were struggling to get 500s. Now, I'm no great bowler but overall, I had an average night although two games were above average with one really crappy game squeezed in the middle (as I said in my other post..."user error" not lane conditions). I really enjoyed the "change" of lane conditions...it made things interesting for once. Hopefully, I'll get to see more of that type of oil pattern over the next few weeks instead of the THS!

Bones,

I still haven't lost all my old flinging ways. Years of the flinging play do not easily go away. I am glad you found your apparent flinging style, but you will get tired of it.

Here is a question: Are you truly a a flinger? I say that you are not. You know too much about bowling. A true flinger just knows that their ball hooks and if they hit the pocket they should strike. Give it up, we know better.

"Bones, I know flingers, I bowl with flingers, and you sir......are no flinger."

Why can't leagues have centers put out two different shots through out the season. Not saying every other week, but put out a tough shot like every 4 weeks. Would make the season a lot more interesting.
