New Balls/New Track?
« on: October 14, 2008, 07:42:26 AM »
I recently switched out all my Brunswick equipment for a couple of Morich pieces.  I have always tracked high (first oil ring right next to and left of my middle finger and thumb).  Today, after throwing my 'N Sane LevRG and my Solid LevRG, I noticed that my track had moved BETWEEN my middle and ring finger (actually, a little closer to my ring finger) and was cutting right thru the middle of the thumb hole on both balls.  I could hear the balls rolling over the thumb hole going down the lane.  I am throwing the same as I always have on the lanes that I always bowl on.  I am also struggling to get much movement on either of these balls.  I tried lots of differnt lines, but, nothing really seemed to work out.  Could these balls just be laid out competely wrong?  I had to find a new driller as my old one closed down his shop.  Help as I am extremely confused!

my nsane did the same thing.  followed the drilling sheet and put the pin high to get length and.....pow! track between the fingers and right of the thumb hole. go figure.
its drilled 60° x 4 1/4" x 30°...1 1/2" buffer.

only difference with mine is, it does hook.

Sounds like the driller didn't have your pap measured correctly.

mine was drilled right off my PAP.  i dont know if cenastyle's balls were drilled off his pap.  being a high tracker, if his was drilled with pin below fingers than that could be the culprit.

I have 3 900 Glabal Breaks and 1 that is doing the same thing.  If I just stroke the ball I'm fine, but any hand and I roll over the thumb. What's funny though is that ball snapps more (with whatever release I use) when I roll over the thumb.

Never even looked at my PAP, which is my fault for letting it happen.  Like I said, it was a new driller and he just looked at my other balls and how they were laid out.  My Solid is drilled pin below ring and the 'N Sane is drilled pin right of ring.

that could be it then.  i know with me anything below the fingers i thump the middle finger and thumb.  and sometimes, depending on the ball, if the pin is next to ring finger it will cause it to roll over middle finger and thumb also.

but on my Nsane, the pin is 4" above midline.  oh well, it works.  i dont feel like plugging, so i may sell/trade and get another.
