New ball driller looking for advice
« on: November 30, 2003, 05:30:53 AM »
hey guys,

i just got into drilling balls, and i was just wanting to see what words of wisdom any of you may have.  I have been studying the Bill Taylor book "Fitting and Drilling a Bowling Ball", and its really good.  It was quite expensive, i got it off e-bay for $150, so i made myself a copy on disk to take into the shop, so i would not ruin the origional.

any web sites, or literature that you can recomend would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot!!

Phillip

i've been drilling for 15yrs now. all i can say is.
1. double check all measurments, including pitches and hole sizes

2. take your time.

yea.. i am big into the education part too. i am taking the YABA coaching courses in the near future, and when i get the money, i am gonna get a few of those "half balls" so that people can see what balls are really made of.

thanks for the great examples and advice.. and keep it coming!!
