USBC's definition of "classified"
« on: May 29, 2010, 04:40:03 AM »
Was reading the USBC rulebook and saw where it referenced handicap or classified competition and wanted to see if anyone knew what "classified" is considered. Any info is apprecitaed.

At nationals and at some tournaments, "classified" means less than a 180 average.  Everyone bowl scratch, but the bowlers with averages under 180 are competing in their own division called "classified", those over 180 are competing in a separate division (usually called "regular").

I think classified can be any separate average divisions within a tournament, usually a scratch tournament. I think the women's nationals used to have about five average divisions with competition scratch within each division.
