I haven't bought a new bowling ball in about 5 years. I've been bowling at the same house for about 8-9 years and have kept a 190+ average for the last 5-6 years there. The two balls I currently use are a Columbia Pearlized Cuda/C from '96 or so and a Track Triton TKO from '99. I generally shoot with the Cuda, but on rare occasion there is a trace of oil on the lanes and I use the TKO. I throw the ball hard and loft my shot out onto the lane about 10 feet (just before the arrows). My standard shot is with me standing on about 20 and throwing pretty straight up 5. Occasionally I can start standing around 28-33 and start throwing over 10 to about 7, but usually I can't play this shot until games 3, 4, 5. This shot seems to allow me to miss by a few more boards and still keep the ball in the pocket. This is the only house I can get these balls to move that much during league conditions. At most other houses(that believe in using oil), I use the TKO and I have to stand 15-18, slow down a bit and turn the ball more just to throw straight up 5. Any suggestions on what to get to allow me to play a shot standing around 30 and throwing over 10 with the heavier oil?
Thanks
Tom
