When is a "blem" a blem?

In the last couple of years, I have noticed that the subject of blems has become more and more debated. Company A "blems" a ball for even minor cosmetic problems, while company B doesn't call production mistakes "blems" at all, just renames them and sells them as something else first line. Company C calls many of their former "blems" pro models, such as pro-pin or pro-cg.
Should a ball be considered a "blem" if their is ANYTHING out of the norm with it, or should it take a MAJOR defect that affects performance adversely before reaching the "blem" state?

If it's anything different than what they intended it to be, I'd say yes, it's a blem.
I had a Visionary Blue Warlock that was a blem, and it was SLIGHTLY off color.

A blem is an imperfect ball which cannot be sold for the price of a perfect ball.
Blem = Defect, Pro Pin, Pro CG, Bonanza, 2nd

Storm and Roto's Manufacturing Definitions
I think it's interesting that a cosmetic blemish is considered a 2nd Quality/X-Comp and shifted cores and long pins are considered 1st Quality/Pro-CG/Pin

I was a lane monitor for our association tournament and watched one of the baggers using a Break Pearl that was half-silver, half-orange. As in silver in the northern hemisphere and orange in the southern hemisphere. Dunno if it was sold as a blem but it most assuredly should have been. Wasn't the ugliest thing I've ever seen I actually thought it looked neat.
