Refreshing to see Brunswick coming out with some balls that actually try to get 30--35 feet down the lane without going sideways. With the tendendancy of all lanes to be "dry", some of us they can't throw the ball 25mph are having difficulties. The VersaMax looks interesting.

The lane is sixty feet long i hope the new stuff goes longer than thirty five feet. Maybe
forty or forty feet would be better.

Yup. Revive the Red/Black Monster and/or the ScreamR, and add them to the Karma line. That's IMO a true white space in the current line-up.

I see where you guys are coming from though. I use all Seismic and love it, a little
less hook than some other companies but still capable of handling oil when needed.

But i did punch up a Critical Theory and a Red Taboo, neither was impressive, the CT
had the easy length even drilled pin down but was way to crazy off the spot for my
taste. Taboo was a probably a bit smoother off the spot even drilled pin up but was
just way to much ball no need for me to have that much hook. Hook dont knock pins
down.

I bowled a guy in my singles league today who was using a Nexxus. I swear to you, for the first game and a half he had everywhere from the 3-10 boards as a break point. Nothing in that area for a game and a half didn't strike. Not even a ten pin. He only didn't strike if he missed further in. Even on a THS I've never seen that much freaking room. To say I found it frustrating would be an understatement.

Must be something to where you bowl or your layouts. It is easy with a lot of Brunwicks stuff to get plenty of length and backend. Ive used their stuff as my primary equipment for years and have not had any issues with getting length. Average ball speed is 16mph

Im sorry, I may be rude, but if everything from 3-10 at the breakpoint was a strike.....how the hell did he miss that much area?!? If you 7 boards at the breakpoint and you miss that......you seriously need to put more practice time in. Sorry but if this post is true it is just sad.

It wasn't me, I can assure you...but last night I had about a 6-7 board area that was walking right to the hole no matter where I put it. So I went 244-142-195..which I suppose isn't too awful considering that Monday night was the first time I touched my equipment (other than putting it into a moving van) since 2005. The old arm-swing just isn't getting with the program yet...and it cost me some big scores last night!

*And just for the record, Monday was a little uglier: 131-152-207

To the OP, Brunswick has been coming out with more interesting equipment of late. I really like the Versa-Max and think it truly is the most versatile ball they have in the lineup. It is pretty clean through the heads, but also makes a very consistent move at the breakpoint. Reminded me of the Wicked Siege, which I also liked. Versa-Max is probably not as strong which makes it a tad more versatile.

I tested the Nexxus, Nexus solid, Nexus pearl, and Versa-Max together on the same lane condition and it was interesting. Although the Nexus Pearl really generates a lot of backend angle, it was least consistent at the breakpoint. Too much over/under for longer or fresh patterns.

A lot of people will buy several of these balls, but if I had to choose, I would get the Nexxus and Versa-Max.

TamerBowling, I find your comment about the Nexus Pearl to be interesting. My Nexus is VERY consistent shot to shot on a typical house shot. Are you a power player ? What is the surface on the ball ?

It may be because we were testing on a longish, heavier volume THS, but it really was pretty over/under. I've seen it thrown by a few different people and on different conditions. It seems to work much better when the lanes have broken down. We did not have the chance to officially test it on many conditions with analysis but the feedback is from the testing we did. You can see the bowler style in the video. (BTW, the bowler in the video is not me)

Of course, I have to assume some different style bowlers may find different results.

From what I saw, despite the very big backend, it was my least favorite reaction, simply because it was the least consistent of the balls we tested.
