hi all.
i just need some of your point of views.
i have a 10 year old Quantum ball and a maxim spare ball and now im on the look out for two new. i have been very pleased with the Quantum ball but guess things have change the last 10 years. i have been looking at so many balls that im getting lost. seems most balls are great and that there are not that big a difference. im looking for one stike and one spare/light oil ball.
One other thing is that i need it shipped to norway with UPS. so im also looking for a company that will ship with my company UPS account. and yes, the balls in US are so much cheaper then in norway around 1/3 of the price.
hope to get som answers.

Hi Snowflake,
I think that I need a little more information before I try and address your problem
What Quantum is it?
What kind of lanes do you bowl on? (heavy/medium/light oil)
What kind of speed do you bowl? (Fast/Medium/Slow)
What kind of revs do you have? (High/Medium/Slow)
Without this information, I would suggest going with something for medium to medium-heavy oil with a medium-low RG and get it driled pin under ring finger. This should give you a good versatile ball with plenty of options to change the reaction with surface changes.
The Brunswick Rattler would be a good choice here, I've also seen the rapid fire pearl to good effect.
As for lighter oil, the Vibes are a good bet, I have a tropical storm which is decent too, although all the lighter oil fayre is pretty much the same across the different companies.

Snowflake, there are many different Quantums released by Brunswick in the past, both for US and international markets. Which one do you have? If you are not sure, posting picture may help.
I'd strongly recommend you to go to a proshop, have them watch your game and make suggestions accordingly. You can always find a way to purchase recommended balls from US.
Additionally, I'd keep my spare ball unless I'm bored from the look of it
Hope this helps,

hi again
sorry for the missing info.
I'm not sure what Quantum i have but will find out maybe post a picture.
i normally play on medium oiled lanes but sometimes i play heavy and dry (late in the evening)
my speed is about 24-25kmh (not sure what that is in mph?)
would say i have a medium/high revs.
i have been looking on the Hammer Vib balls and they seem very versatile and not to expensive either.
i know its hard to come up with an excact answer but i just need a little guideline.
thx for all help

if i calculated it right 25kmh should b around 15.5mph.. at that speed id say a medium oil ball would do fine.. depending on how much u crank in2 ur ball.. im not as smart as these guys but thats just my opinion i used a medium ball when i bowled at that speed but i also crank in2 my ball and it moved a good bit.

If you would like to go with Hammer, I'd suggest "Raw Hammer". It's very versatile and strong, good for "medium/medium to oily" conditions. Also responds surface changes perfectly well.
I would also recommend Copperhead, if you would like to stay with Brunswick. It's also a great bang for the buck!
However, I want to repeat my first suggestion: Find a proshop and let them watch your game!
Best of Luck,

Having a good pro shop owner watching your game is a good thing as Burak says.
I would say, maybe a HyRoad, or Solid Street Rod, possibly a Break from 900 Global, for you it may a Prison Break for you as you are overseas.

but it dosent say what type it is. they maxim spare ball is a weight 16 and it has always been a little to heavy for my liking. so, none of the new balls is nothing to look at?.
i was thinking of 2 balls one for mid/heavy and one for dry/mid oil and then mayby re-drill my maxim
I have been looking at:
Track Rising SE
Hammer Vibe Blue
Columbia 300 Momentum
Brunswick Rattler
Quantum Navy Pro Active
Storm Hy-Road
Brunswick Copperhead
