BALL REACTION VIDEOS!!!
« on: April 17, 2013, 03:00:35 PM »
just my opinion but i dont want everyone to edit out all the bad shots and just leave the strikes i want to see every shot thrown with the ball. no one is gonna throw the ball the same and hit your mark everytime i wanna see how the reaction when you miss left and miss right and everthring in between. HOW DO YOU ALL FEEL ABOUT IT?

EVERY ONE TUGS THE BALL SO BY SEEING EVERY SHOT HOW IS THAT GONNA TELL YOU ABOUT THE BOWLER ITS GONNA GIVE YOU A MORE REALISTIC LOOK AT THE SHOT FOR SHOT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BALL

A missing option: lane patterns. I would love to see how a given ball would react on different patterns. It gets boring seeing a new ball being reviewed or taped on a THS, or something like Kegel's Easy Street pattern. Show me something like a Challenge pattern (Middle Road), Sport pattern, or something like the USBC Open pattern, and then we'll see what the ball can do.

While I completely agree, not everyone has access or the connections at a center to put out a specific shot just to put together a video.

I've only done 2 videos, both for the reax.  I edited it down to show pocket hits.  I showed every ringing 10, every flat 10, etc...   Nobody wants to see how a ball reacts when it's pulled 5 boards left of target and going brooklyn, or a dumped shot that crushes the 3-6 pocket.  It doesn't show anything as far as ball reaction.  I want to see what the ball does when it's somewhere close to target, miss a couple boards in...did it hold, miss a couple out dose it recover?  I'm seriously confused why so many people want to see horrid shots in a ball reaction video.

YOU WANT TO SEE A REALISTIC VIDEO!!!! WATCHING SOMEONE STRIKE EVERY SHOT DOESNT TELL YOU ANYTHING AT ALL.

Well we will just have to agree to disagree then because a poor shot tells me nothing about ball reaction.

I have to agree with this.

Ball reaction tells you nothing if a bowler's elbow comes out, causing them to pull the ball left. Nor does it do any good if a bowler misses their target completely. That's why I voted for pocket shots, because at least the bowler would have be +/- 2 or 3 boards either side to see how the ball would react over a drier part of the lane, or where there may be more oil.

True, but if they do have the right tools (read: Kegel machine), it wouldn't hurt to ask. The patterns are on their site; they could easily load them and push that onto a lane..

But it wouldn't even take that to change the pattern. Even a pattern that broke down or was in transition would help as well. Even the slightest change, would be a change.

Okay, here is my video for the REAX that I did.  I just started doing these so it's not the best.

I show pocket shots, left a few 10 pin leaves in there.  You'll see that I probably don't hit the same spot twice.  And trust me there were plenty of bad shots that I decided not to show because they were terrible.  I don't pretend to be a great bowler, just an average one, though I'm trying to improve.

I voted for all shots thrown. Yes, everyone throws it different and has different stats but I would like to see if someone throws it out too far or pulls it in a little bit. I want to see how the ball is going to react. Like is it going to stay way out and not come back at all? Or if it is pulled, is it just going to go brooklyn or try to hold down lane? Just my 2cents.
