Bruise under ring fingernail...

Wondering if anyone knew what was going on...

Just started using a new ball driller who came highly recommended.  Fit and span were much better and I have noticed a much smoother, consistent, and cleaner release since I have started using equipment drilled by him.

Unfortunately, about three or four weeks ago, I began to get bruising/blood blister under my right ring fingernail.  I didn't think much of it at the time, but eventually it became painful to throw the ball.

My first thought of why this was happening was that since I have inserts that are slightly oversized, that the top of my nail was biting into the insert causing the pitch to deviate from what was originally drilled (and intended).

The other thing I thought was maybe the entire finger pitch itself was off.  But those two are the best I've been able to come up with.  Was wondering if any of you ball drillers had any suggestions.

Thumb is 1/8" forward, using VISE Semi-lift inserts and sorry, I'm not sure of the exact finger pitches, and my specs aren't with me right now.

Also, as a sidebar, I have stubby fingers (yes, like the Simpsons), hence a very short span.  Every once in a while after bowling many games (10+) in a day, my hand tends to stiffen up.  Anyone else get this?  I also have a slight lack of flexibility in my right hand (which could help lead to stiffness)... Anyone have suggestions for combatting any of these problems?  They aren't really affecting my bowling (at least to my knowledge) but they can be a nuisance at times.

You could also have the span a tad to long.

bring in ring span an 1/8 th should do the the trick, i went 1/8 shorter boths fingers and 1/2 reverse fingers and the ball flys off my fingers. If you have a true free arm swing it will work great if you muscle the swing you will get nothing on the bottom of the swing in the fingers.

reverse in fingers is perfect for stiff fingers and you can go as much as 3/4 of an inch for real stiff. If you have 0 or forward even with correct span you will still cause pain from fingers being unable to sit in holes without the nail being forced against front edge of hole. Reverse does work try it and see on just one ball and let me know.
