A couple of months ago I posted about the “Real Deal Sports†poll at
www.Babyruth.com I just copied the following from the PBA board. Maybe all of our voting helped convince Babyruth to become a sponsor.
Currently the PBA is slightly behind. We need to vote again and often.
PBA May Get Sweet, New Deal
It appears that the PBA's partnership pool will be sweetened if all the pieces fall in place on a new deal with the Baby Ruth brand of Nestle USA. "The deal at this point is rather fluid," said the PBA's Peter Levy. "We're still nailing things down, but there is a Letter of Intent, and we should have some final answers soon."
If our information is correct, Baby Ruth will be an official sponsor of an event in St. Louis this coming season. It will revolve around the tag line, "Baby Ruth is the real deal," and perhaps even involve an event that could be called the St. Louis Real Deal Classic. Our sources say the whole deal is worth $325,000, with Strike Ten Entertainment getting a dividend because of its involvement. (Maybe the posters on this thread in this forum should get a dividend because of our involvement!)
A bowling-related Baby Ruth ad was the first step. According to Cathy Johnson, Nestle USA Consumer Services Manager, "We have discovered that bowling is actually one of the sports our Baby Ruth consumers prefer." Things progressed from there.
