He is from Jersey. Horrible grammar is common there.

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.

Ever wonder why the manufacture sites don't have the new balls/bags/etc on them until well after the release dates or later ? Seems to me it'd be worth the time and effort to have the new stuff on them, as a tease maybe, a week or so before the release dates. Might stir up more interest or sales.

Thoughts ?

info often gets leaked on FB or the forum sites. there cheap way to communicate. the manufactuer websites are time consuming and pricey to update constantly for every little thing.

Could be but if it's that costly, and FB and others are better/faster, then shut down the sites and just go with those 'cheaper sites' ? Not knocking Ebonite but all tornadoes are discontinued, yet nothing on the main site, no mention of them going away or the new line. Seems if they really wanted to spark interest, there would be something. Same goes for other balls not just picking on Ebonite.

If it's a cost thing, fine, I understand. If it's just a ...we'll get to it later thing, then said company isn't wanting customers very bad.

OP, Hammer has always been made in the USA. What are you talking about? Teasing us with what?

I think it's interesting that the Cyclones are already available on Buddie's website, but there's no mention of them whatsoever on Ebonite's site.

By the way, they look like a helluva lotta ball for an "entry level" ball! The performance bar at the entry level price point keeps going up!

That's just my point. There's a line that's out there yet the originator site has nothing. As if they don't want to 'show off' or inform the masses. Again, not picking on Ebonite but that's my point.

Frustrating at times.

I agree, Azguy. You'd think there would be something in the Ebonite News section (at the very least). I'd like to see some videos of these balls thrown, too.

I'm never hung up o any videos of any ball from any company. The main reason, for  me , is the oil pattern/length. Most, as I have been told by a few that work for a couple different companies as 38 ft oil. We have 44 ft in the center I bowl on so 'short oil' and ball reaction doesn't impress me one bit.

Picking on Hammer but those videos are from folks that are way above most 'skill level'. I'd be more impressed with some from 'joe doe' picked by the company and given a ball, drilled as they would normally and then thrown. I can watch a pro with a ball and I know if I threw the same ball, I'm NOT going to get that type of reaction out of it.

Show me a 'normal person' with a longer oil and then maybe I'd be more impressed.

Back to original point, I just can't see why companies can't have current info or even info of a ball "to be released' within a month or so. Seems to me the car companies do it, generate interest and sales, why not a bowling ball company ?

I'll get off my soap box now.

If there is one brand I cannot give away in my shop, it's Ebonite, simply because people have never heard of anything other than a Mission. I'm not sure if it's there marketing or what, but why would someone come in and want to purchase a ball that they've never heard of. It's not like they don't know who Ebonite is, but certain balls just have no reputation, good or bad, and it's nearly impossible to sell them, especially if they are sitting side by side with popular releases from competing brands. I'm gonna assume the subject behind this topic is much to blame for it. Sad to say, I've pretty much come to the conclusion my shop will survive just as well without them on the shelves.

I think the Hammer videos could be much better. They look nice and all (i.e. filmed well, good lighting and angles), but, as you said, the level of the bowlers is very top-heavy. The main problem I have with them is that while they'll have each bowler throw two balls, they only show the pocket hits/strikes, which doesn't show me any comparison of the balls side-by-side.

For instance, the Infection videos show each bowler starting with a Plague and then moving to an Infection. They don't say what adjustment was made - they only show the Infection hitting the pocket. Well, if I am to compare the two balls side-by-side, I need to see:

A. That both balls have the same layout (they only show the Infection layout, not the Plague layout), and

B. What happens when the Infection is thrown on the same line as the Plague. Does it cut through the nose? Does it leave a bucket? Does it hit high flush the same as the Plague?

This is typical of the Hammer videos. Of course, it would also help to know how much dressing is applied, how far down the lane it's applied, the lane surface, etc.

In any case, I still like to see the balls being thrown on videos, even taking into account that there is limited information that I can gain from them.

It is a regional thing. No one here sells or throws Ebonite. They stock the new Ebonite packages when they are released and they stay on the shelf all season. Hammer and Track sell much stronger and are the primary focus from the EBI family.

Be good, or be good at it.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.
