Ball selection - choices

Teammate is looking for a new ball.  Female, righthanded back up bowler with good speed and accuracy issues mostly contributed to timing. Lane condition: typical THS medium oil. I have narrowed her choices down to Track's 706A, RG's Berserk and Storm's Manic. 

 Any and all opinions are appreciated.

Backup ball?

I'd just simply go with a plastic or slingshot.  She's probably not going to (this is an assumption) reap the full rewards of a mid-price to HP ball.

What weight does she throw?  if it's below 13 lbs you have no chance of getting the core a high priced ball has in the higher weights.  If that's the case I'd suggest a Cyclone.  If she throws 13 lb the MoRich balls have the same core specs as their higher weight balls.   --  JohnP

She has been throwing 15 lbs down from 16lbs approx 6 yrs ago.

Just because someone throws a backup ball doesn't mean they can't reap the benefits of mid performance or even high performance equipment.

Treat this as you would any other ball recommendation. See what the person used before and along with their stats and conditions bowling on and make a recommendation.

+1.  I have seen a person in my league throw a Nano solid with a backup ball as his primary game, and it works out.  Best way to approach this is just like any other person who asks for some ideas.  Depending on the conditions, a mid to high end performance ball could be exactly what they need.

Assuming she is righty throwing backup, there may be even more incentive for high performance.  Dealing with that lefty "fresh shot" head oil all night long....  If lefty and throwing a backup, may need stern talking...
