Ohhhh I gotta get me one of those!
Guy in the next lane with the base of the MOP might get a little upset, especially if the MOP was used for its alternative function not too long ago...

All kidding aside, Ron's latest tip is a good
reminder that todays reactive balls definitely
prefer the low and smooth early laydown.
I bowled so lousy yesterday that stayed to
practice after league. As soon as I got my long
and low slide working then my ball started working.
Just for fun started to target the foul line
dots, that seemed to help the leverage and accuracy.
Tom Kouros in his book says that using the FL dots is
not a bad thing but an advantage if you can do it.???
It's all about finding your own way. Still looking

i luckily have always had a fairly smooth release, i always told myself it is not only important to hit my mark but to roll the ball through the mark not just at it..roll, flare, flip, ahhhh

I am thinking of marketing my M.O.P. device to bowling centers. I am pretty sure that they could need one....just not sure if they know how to use one.
Bowl Great!

Christ Ron, anyone can hit something as big as a mop.  I'm still thge only person accurate enough to hit a cue stick.

Ron's advice is right on.

I'm one of those bowlers he describes at the beginning of the article.  I learned to bowl back in the 70's, and back then "hitting up" (late release while using a start-the-lawnmower-action) on the ball was how we were taught to bowl.  What he describes is absolutely true.  When I'm not on my game, I'll tend to hit up on my ball more or less on every shot.  The end result is an erratic ball reaction (too much hook too little hook, aka "under-over") and a poor read on lane conditions.

By the way Ron, your high-tech M.O.P. also worked 20 years ago.  The difference was back then, you got the ball over the M.O.P.
