I thought you were BSing us.  As crazy as Patterson is, I didn't think he'd "target attack" a group predominantly composed of lower to middle class people.

Then I googled NYS bowling Taax and got this.
‘Bowling for dollars’
4 percent tax for sport part of proposed state budget

NY has lost many bowling centers the last couple of years.
That number will skyrocket with this fee.

That's a shame.  Stuff like this really frosts my A double S.  I'm not even from NY & I am P-Oed.  But hey, watch the Dems reelect the guy come election time because he has a (D) after his name.  More of that "change" they keep telling us about.  Riiiiiight.

Is 4% really a big deal?  That adds what...maybe 60 cents to a league night (presuming $15 for the three-game set).  If sixty cents a week makes or breaks you, then perhaps it is time to reconsider the activity in the first place.  My god, it isn't even a beer per month per league...

your point is valid, but I think it's more principle than anything. Last thing folks want to hear is 'something else being taxed', especially something that really would not make a dent in the economic situation NY is in.  You have mass transit (MTA) going up, probably tolls to follow etc.   When does the bleeding stop?

those are the officials the people of new york voted
in . be more careful who you vote for. i spent 2 weeks
in albany recently and was amazed at how liberal/socialist
the media is slanted. everything is taxed beyond belief.
why would you think they wouldn't come after bowling?

i throw TRACK it's official!

I read the article in the USBC magazine about the USBC suing the former NY State USBC Bowling Association over the alleged embezzlement of over $274,000.
I'm just wondering if this is the state pulling a fast one to help cover the legal expenses of this lawsuit.
